Boric acid, also known as hydrogen borate or boracic acid, is a white crystalline substance that is odorless and nearly tasteless. It has antifungal, antiseptic, and insecticidal properties, and is used in a variety of industries due to its versatile nature.  These industries include drilling/fracking, glass and ceramics, pharmaceuticals, and textiles. It is also used in nuclear power plants as a neutron absorber, helping to control nuclear reactions and prevent nuclear meltdowns.
